The team at Pidgeons

Today the dedicated staff at Pidgeons have between them over 300 years of experience in the funeral profession, serving the needs of the bereaved. All the company’s funeral directors hold a professional qualification in funeral directing and the remaining staff are highly trained professionals.

Under the guidance of John Pidgeon, the committed and professional team are perfectly suited to delivering a truly personal, bespoke service, with great attention to detail. Their friendly approach, dedication to what they do and genuine care for the families they look after means that our client’s expectations are often exceeded.

John Pidgeon

John is the grandson of the founding Director of Pidgeons and lived literally on the business (in a flat above it) from birth. He has been involved in funeral service from a young age and has more than 40 years experience in the profession.
He is a qualified funeral director and holds a Diploma in Funeral Directing (Dip Fd). He is also a qualified embalmer and is a member of The British Institute of Embalmers.
He believes funeral service is a vocation, rather than a job. He endeavours to ensure that each and every deceased person entrusted into his family’s care is treated as though they were one of his own family.

John Cammell
Funeral Home Manager

John has over 35 years experience in the profession. He is a fully qualified funeral director and has a Diploma in Funeral Directing; the benchmark of excellence within the profession.

John has a Diploma in Funeral Service Management and is a licensed member of the British Institution of Funeral Directors.

John believes the family and loved ones of the deceased are paramount, with a tasteful and personal service being a perfect lasting memory to remember your loved one.

Neil Bowen
Funeral Director

Neil has recently joined the team at Pidgeon’s, bringing with him eight years of experience within the funeral profession. He began his career as a driver and bearer, and through dedication, compassion, and a strong commitment to the families he serves, progressed to the role of Funeral Director – a position he has held for the past four years. 
Neil is deeply committed to ensuring that every detail is thoughtfully considered, and that each family’s wishes are fully respected. He takes great pride in creating meaningful and dignified services, helping to provide a truly personal and respectful farewell for every individual.

Callum Bradshaw
Funeral Director

Callum joined Pidgeons Funeral Directors in 2019  worked his way to becoming a Funeral Director in 2021. Callum prides himself in offering an individual and unique service to the bereaved, noting that this is one of the family’s last doting gestures and celebration of their loved one. Callum ensures nothing is too much trouble and every aspect of care and attention will be made to make sure every service is a farewell you can be proud of.

If you have telephoned us or visited our funeral home, it will most likely have been Barbara or Amy who will have welcomed you.  Whilst they are the first people you will usually see when you visit us, they also work tirelessly, often in the background, to ensure that everything runs smoothly and efficiently.
